About this item

A nearby Stake of Marika can offer a closer respawn point after death. Choose it on the death screen when the option is available.

You do not need to rest at or manually activate the stake. Its protection depends on being within its nearby area when you die.

A stake is not a Site of Grace: it has no resting menu and does not become a fast-travel destination.

In-game description

Upon dying, you will be revived at the last site of grace that you visited.

However, if there is a Stake of Marika near where you died, you can choose to be revived there instead.

Where to find

Cave of Knowledge

Limgrave

Starting Site of Grace: Stranded Graveyard

  1. From Stranded Graveyard, approach the seated ghost beside the hole before the large exit lift. Drop into the hole and activate Cave of Knowledge grace.
  2. Follow the practice path through the enemies and read the introduction to Stakes of Marika when it appears. This explanation is awarded automatically, rather than picked up from a corpse.
  3. Continue through the Soldier of Godrick encounter to return to the upper graveyard. The Info tab keeps the tutorial available to read afterward.
