This painter is said to have captured the landscapes seen during the last moments of those welcomed into death's embrace.

The soul of the painter, and vestiges of the dead's last moments can be discovered by visiting the location depicted even now.

Starting Site of Grace: Artist's Shack

1. On eastern Liurnia's high ground, start at Liurnia Highway North and follow the muddy path north. Stay on the plateau rather than descending into the lake.
2. Reach Artist's Shack near the cliff, northwest of Carian Study Hall. Activate its grace and examine Resurrection Painting inside. This is the Liurnia shack, not the Homing Instinct shack in Limgrave.

Notes

• Examine the painting inside the Artist's Shack on eastern Liurnia's plateau before looking for its reward. The Limgrave Artist's Shack contains a different painting.
• Reach the western Liurnia road and follow it north through Kingsrealm Ruins. Strike the illusory wall blocking the road at the northern end, then continue past Iji at Road to the Manor.
• Ride toward the large manor while avoiding the magical strikes falling along the approach. Activate Main Caria Manor Gate grace at the entrance.
• Inside, follow the courtyard path northwest toward the building in the far corner. Fingercreepers hide among the plants and beneath the ground; do not stop on a buried hand.
• Enter the building with the seated spirit and climb its stairs to Manor Lower Level grace.
• Take the elevated walkways east and continue straight along the main route at the first junction. Spectral soldiers appear along the bridges. Reach the far building and take its lift up to Manor Upper Level.
• Leave the upper grace, pass the wolves in the garden and climb the main stone stairway toward the Troll Knight and sorcerers.
• Continue up the stairs beyond the troll and Pages to the large circular courtyard. Defeat Royal Knight Loretta, then activate Royal Moongazing Grounds grace.
• Leave Loretta's arena through the rear exit into Three Sisters. Follow the path clockwise around the manor's northern side to reach Behind Caria Manor grace.
• Continue southeast from that grace toward the cliffside graveyard east of the manor. Search among the graves for the seated painter's spirit, with Raya Lucaria visible in the distance.
• Approach the painter and wait for it to disappear. Collect the Juvenile Scholar Cap, Juvenile Scholar Robe and Larval Tear it leaves. If there is no spirit, make sure you examined Resurrection Painting at the Liurnia Artist's Shack first.
• The Larval Tear is for rebirth after defeating Rennala. The clothing is ordinary armor with no Intelligence or sorcery bonus, and collecting it does not consume the painting.
• Ranni's quest is not required. The painter appears where the view was painted; searching the distant academy shown in the picture will not find this reward.
