About this item

Solving The Sacred Tower rewards Spiraltree Seal, which strengthens spiral incantations while held. The reward viewpoint is on the Northern Nameless Mausoleum plateau in lower Rauh.

Examine the original easel first. Merely seeing it in the room or visiting the solution area beforehand does not activate its reward.

Find the painter's viewpoint, rather than trying to stand at the distant landmark shown in the picture. Approach the seated spirit, wait for it to fade and collect the glowing item left behind.

In-game description

Work of a wandering artist. Reminiscence of a painting titled "The Sacred Tower."

This painter is said to have captured the landscapes seen during the last moments of those welcomed into death's embrace.

The soul of the painter, and vestiges of the dead's last moments can be discovered by visiting the location depicted even now.

Where to find

Small cave northeast of Scorched Ruins

Gravesite Plain

Starting Site of Grace: Scorched Ruins

  1. From the opening Gravesite Plain grace, ride north past the spiritgraves to Scorched Ruins and activate its grace.
  2. Head east and northeast toward the cliff face, directly east of the wandering Furnace Golem. Look for the shallow cave at the foot of the rock, south of the Backhand Blade area.
  3. Enter the cave and examine The Sacred Tower on its easel. The Furnace Golem does not need to be defeated, and this is an open cave rather than a boss dungeon.

Notes

  • Solving The Sacred Tower rewards Spiraltree Seal, which strengthens spiral incantations while held. The reward viewpoint is on the Northern Nameless Mausoleum plateau in lower Rauh.
  • Examine the original easel first. Merely seeing it in the room or visiting the solution area beforehand does not activate its reward.
  • Find the painter's viewpoint, rather than trying to stand at the distant landmark shown in the picture. Approach the seated spirit, wait for it to fade and collect the glowing item left behind.
  • The painter appears after Enir-Ilim is revealed. Defeat Messmer and Romina, then use Messmer's Kindling on the Sealing Tree behind Church of the Bud. Finish the companion quest steps you want before burning it.
  • From Moorth Ruins grace in Scadu Altus, ride northeast to the small triangular pool. Look for the cave beside a statue of Marika and a Scadutree Fragment.
  • Enter the cave and follow it past the perfumers to the glowing golden tree. Take the path to its right down into the swamp.
  • Turn left through the route beneath the rock and continue until you emerge into Rauh Base. Activate Ancient Ruins Base grace ahead.
  • Follow the valley southwest toward Temple Town Ruins. A bow golem and an axe golem guard the approach; fighting them is optional if you can pass their attacks.
  • Collect the map beneath the stele near the ruined town. This is the lower valley, not the upper ruins reached through Shadow Keep.
  • At the map stele east of Temple Town Ruins, look east for the sealed spiritspring beside the cliff. Follow the nearby path south-southwest to the sealing rock behind the low broken wall and destroy it.
  • Return and use the spring, then the next spring above it, to reach the plateau with Northern Nameless Mausoleum. The boss inside the mausoleum is unnecessary.
  • Follow the plateau's western edge south toward the slope. Look between the two projecting rocks facing Enir-Ilim, approach the painter and collect the seal after it fades.
