About this item

Crouching makes you harder to notice, especially while moving through tall grass. It does not make you invisible, and enemies can still see you at close range.

Approach a distracted enemy from behind and use a light attack close to its back for a backstab when that enemy supports one. A crouching attack from the front is a different action.

An attack against an unaware enemy can deal extra damage. Once the enemy notices you, crouching alone does not reset the fight.

Where to find

Cave of Knowledge

Limgrave

Starting Site of Grace: Stranded Graveyard

  1. From Stranded Graveyard, approach the seated ghost beside the hole before the large exit lift. Drop into the hole and activate Cave of Knowledge grace.
  2. Follow the practice path through the enemies and read the introduction to crouching when it appears. This explanation is awarded automatically, rather than picked up from a corpse.
  3. Continue through the Soldier of Godrick encounter to return to the upper graveyard. The Info tab keeps the tutorial available to read afterward.
