The consumable is separate from the reusable Bloody Finger and Recusant Finger. The tutorial does not supply unlimited invasion items.

In-game description

Use Festering Bloody Finger to attempt to invade the world of another player.

The multiplayer session will begin once the invasion succeeds.

You will take the role of an invader (Bloody Finger) and your objective is to defeat the Host of Fingers of that world.

If you stray far from the Host of Fingers, the compass at the top of the screen points to their location.

Starting Site of Grace: Rose Church

  1. Defeat a shardbearer and visit the Two Fingers, then find Varre at Rose Church in southwestern Liurnia.
  2. Tell him the Two Fingers did not seem right. His gift of Festering Bloody Fingers introduces invasions if you have not already received that item elsewhere.

  • The consumable is separate from the reusable Bloody Finger and Recusant Finger. The tutorial does not supply unlimited invasion items.

  • Varré's online quest requirement counts invasion attempts rather than victories. Defeating Magnus the Beast Claw at Writheblood Ruins provides the separate offline route.
  • A red duelist summon sign is different from an invasion. A host deliberately activates that sign to invite its owner.
