While riding Torrent, jump inside the swirling column of air to launch upward. Steer toward the intended landing as you rise.

A spiritspring can also cushion a mounted descent into its area. Aim for the spring rather than assuming a nearby cliff or patch of ground has the same protection.

An ordinary double jump does not provide that fall protection. Falling beside the current can still kill you.

Jump while on horseback near a spiritspring to ride its current high into the air.

You won't take damage from jumping into a spiritspring while on horseback, even from a great height.

Where to find

First encounter with a spiritspring while riding

Lands Between

  1. Obtain the Spectral Steed Whistle from Melina and summon Torrent.
  2. Approach one of the swirling columns of air at the foot of a cliff. The spiritspring introduction appears when you encounter the feature while mounted.

Notes

  • While riding Torrent, jump inside the swirling column of air to launch upward. Steer toward the intended landing as you rise.
  • A spiritspring can also cushion a mounted descent into its area. Aim for the spring rather than assuming a nearby cliff or patch of ground has the same protection.
  • An ordinary double jump does not provide that fall protection. Falling beside the current can still kill you.
  • Some springs in the Realm of Shadow are sealed. Find and break their associated stone stack before using them; the control tutorial does not unlock those seals.
