A record of crafting techniques left by an armorer who served the great general Radahn.

Contains knowledge of dealing with rot; the application of fire in particular.

Before you go

• 600 runes

1. Use the sloping route down to the western beach near the First Step. Do not jump from the high cliff above the water.
2. Follow the shore southeast from Coastal Cave until you find the merchant's campfire.
3. Choose Purchase and buy the book for 600 runes.

Notes

• Unlocks Firebone Arrows, Firebone Arrows (Fletched), Firebone Bolts and Neutralizing Boluses.
• The book unlocks its recipes without being equipped or consumed. You also need the Crafting Kit from Kalé at the Church of Elleh to use Item Crafting.
• You keep the book and its recipes in later Journeys. Its number identifies the contents rather than a required collection order.
• Neutralizing Boluses: each craft makes 1, using 1 Herba, 1 Cave Moss, and 1 Great Dragonfly Head.
• Firebone Arrow (Fletched): each craft makes 10, using 3 Thin Beast Bones, 1 Smoldering Butterfly, and 1 Flight Pinion.
• Firebone Arrow: each craft makes 10, using 3 Thin Beast Bones and 1 Smoldering Butterfly.
• Firebone Bolt: each craft makes 10, using 2 Thin Beast Bones and 1 Smoldering Butterfly.
• Neutralizing Boluses treat poison. Scarlet rot needs a different item.
• Firebone Arrows fit bows and light bows; Firebone Bolts fit crossbows. Neutralizing Boluses cure poison and reduce poison buildup, but do not cure Scarlet Rot.
