About this cookbook

Unlocks Festive Grease. Each craft makes one with one Knot Resin and one Blessed Bone Shard; it does not need a pot or Perfume Bottle.

The grease adds 100 Holy attack power to a compatible weapon for 60 seconds and grants 25 runes on qualifying hits. That small fixed payment is different from a percentage increase to the runes an enemy drops.

The weapon still needs to allow ordinary grease or enchantments. Owning this recipe does not make a Sacred, Blood or other normally unbuffable affinity compatible.

In-game description

A record of crafting techniques left by the devout battlefield priests. These keepers of the faith fought bitterly to spread their gospel in the realm of shadow, where there was no Erdtree to gaze upon.

Acquire the knowledge to craft the following:

- Festive Grease

Where to find

Fort of Reprimand, rooftop chest

Scadu Altus

Starting Site of Grace: Fort of Reprimand

Before you go

  • Defeat Black Knight Edredd
  1. From Moorth Ruins in Scadu Altus, follow the highway south. Ride around the soldiers fighting the Ghostflame Dragon and continue through the passage at the southern end of their battlefield.
  2. Activate Moorth Highway, South grace in front of Fort of Reprimand, then enter the fort's main gate. Deal with the courtyard Omenkiller or draw it away before exploring the gallows and doorways.
  3. Take the doorway at the back-right corner of the courtyard. Follow the interior passage to the stairs leading upward; the parallel lower path and cage rooms lead to other loot.
  4. Climb the stairs to the upper wall. At the top, turn back toward the stairs and take the further steps to Fort of Reprimand grace so you have a nearby checkpoint.
  5. Return to the top of the first stairs and enter the large hall ahead. Defeat Black Knight Edredd inside, watching for his flying twinblade dive.
  6. Go up the steps at the back of his room and climb the ladder to the roof. Climb the second ladder on the rooftop tower, then open the chest at the top for Battlefield Priest's Cookbook [2].

Notes

  • Unlocks Festive Grease. Each craft makes one with one Knot Resin and one Blessed Bone Shard; it does not need a pot or Perfume Bottle.
  • The grease adds 100 Holy attack power to a compatible weapon for 60 seconds and grants 25 runes on qualifying hits. That small fixed payment is different from a percentage increase to the runes an enemy drops.
  • The weapon still needs to allow ordinary grease or enchantments. Owning this recipe does not make a Sacred, Blood or other normally unbuffable affinity compatible.
  • Buy the Crafting Kit from Kalé at Church of Elleh if Item Crafting is unavailable. The cookbook is not equipped or consumed when you make the grease.
  • The book and recipe remain available in later journeys. Its number identifies the recipe, so Battlefield Priest's Cookbook [1] is not a prerequisite.
  • Found in the rooftop tower chest beyond Black Knight Edredd's hall. His defeat gives the wing skill; the cookbook must be collected separately.
