Beast Clergyman and Maliketh, the Black Blade

The fight begins against Beast Clergyman and continues as Maliketh in the same attempt, with faster aerial attacks and Destined Death.

Location and access

Great temple beyond Beside the Great Bridge

Maliketh at the great temple

Starting Site of Grace: Beside the Great Bridge

Defeat Fire Giant and progress at the Forge of the Giants to reach Crumbling Farum Azula.
Follow the ruined platforms to Dragon Temple, defeat Godskin Duo and continue through the dragon-temple rooftops.
After passing the dragon and the Warhawks, follow the temple halls to the lift that reaches Beside the Great Bridge.
Climb to the bridge and head toward the large arena beyond the Draconic Tree Sentinel. You can pass the sentinel, though defeating it makes later attempts safer.
Defeat Beast Clergyman and Maliketh in the same encounter for the remembrance. This victory changes Leyndell, so finish its accessible pre-ash pickups first.

Notes

Victory awards Remembrance of the Black Blade. Enia exchanges it for Maliketh’s Black Blade or the Black Blade incantation.
Beast Clergyman is the opening phase, not a separate boss with its own completed encounter reward.
During the opening, leave room for the quick dagger and stone attacks. A short pause is not always the end of the chain.
Maliketh’s Destined Death attacks temporarily reduce maximum HP and continue draining health. Heal with that ongoing effect in mind.
Blasphemous Claw counters specific attacks signaled by a golden flash on the blade. It is not a normal shield parry and does not counter every swing.
The pillars can help interrupt his approach, but do not rely on them to stop every wide attack.
The Draconic Tree Sentinel outside is optional. Defeating it makes repeated approaches less crowded.
Winning changes Leyndell into the Ashen Capital. Finish wanted Royal Capital pickups, including Bolt of Gransax, before completing this fight.
