Locations and access

Road southeast of Agheel Lake North

Limgrave · Break the illusion

Starting Site of Grace: Agheel Lake North

  1. From Agheel Lake North, follow the road southeast toward the small trees near the ruined telescope area.
  2. Listen for someone calling from the trees. Roll into the small talking bush to reveal Boc, then stop attacking and speak to him.

Coastal Cave entrance

Limgrave · Recover his needle

When available: After the bush rescue.

Starting Site of Grace: Coastal Cave

  1. From Church of Elleh, head southwest toward the western coast and use the sloping route beside the collapsed stonework to reach the beach. Do not jump straight off the high cliff.
  2. Look for Coastal Cave in the cliff face, southwest of the church and south of Stormfoot Catacombs. Enter and activate the grace on the left.
  3. Use a torch or lantern for the dark passage. Beyond the first Demi-Human, descend toward the larger chamber; the left-hand passage also leads around to its entrance.

Lake-Facing Cliffs

Liurnia of the Lakes · First tailoring stop

When available: Early Liurnia stage; he moves as you progress.

Starting Site of Grace: Lake-Facing Cliffs

  1. Reach Lake-Facing Cliffs just north of Stormveil and rest at the grace.
  2. Look beside the grace for Boc after returning the Sewing Needle. Speak to use his free alterations.

East Raya Lucaria Gate

Liurnia of the Lakes · Academy-side stop

When available: Later Liurnia stop.

Starting Site of Grace: East Raya Lucaria Gate

  1. From Main Academy Gate, use the northeastern seal to reach East Raya Lucaria Gate.
  2. Rest and look beside the grace for Boc. Finish any new dialogue before continuing toward Bellum Highway.

Altus Highway Junction

Altus Plateau · Altus stop

When available: After reaching Altus.

Starting Site of Grace: Altus Highway Junction

  1. Reach Altus Highway Junction along the southern plateau road.
  2. Rest and speak to Boc when he appears nearby. If he has moved, continue his next stage at East Capital Rampart.

East Capital Rampart grace room

Leyndell, Royal Capital · Rebirth decision

When available: Later capital stage before settling his rebirth decision.

Starting Site of Grace: East Capital Rampart

  1. Enter Leyndell through its northeastern capital entrance after clearing the Draconic Tree Sentinel and the normal capital seal requirements.
  2. Activate East Capital Rampart grace inside the first tower and speak to Boc in that room.

Quest steps

Quest steps can include different outcomes. Read the branch, conditions and cutoffs before making a choice.

  1. Reveal Boc

    Branch: Main quest

Roll into the talking bush southeast of Agheel Lake North. Finish his conversation, then look for him at Coastal Cave.

  2. Return the Sewing Needle

    Branch: Main quest

Defeat the two Demi-Human Chiefs inside Coastal Cave, receive the Sewing Needle and give it to Boc near the entrance. Tailoring Tools are the separate reward for your own alteration menu.

  3. Meet him in Liurnia

    Branch: Main quest

Find him beside Lake-Facing Cliffs and later East Raya Lucaria Gate. He can alter eligible equipment without the rune fee charged by the grace menu.

  4. Bring the Gold Sewing Needle

    Branch: Main quest

Open the chest in Church of Vows for Gold Sewing Needle and Golden Tailoring Tools. Carry an eligible unaltered champion garment bought from Enia, then speak to Boc about altering it and give him the needle.

  5. Accept his service

    Branch: Main quest

At his later stops, agree when he asks to call you lord. This provides the My Lord gesture once that conversation is available.

  6. Reassure him

    Branch: Keep Boc alive

Collect Prattling Pate You’re Beautiful from Hermit Village on Mt. Gelmir. Use it beside Boc at East Capital Rampart, then speak about what he heard and affirm that he is beautiful.

Progression cutoff: Do this before giving him a Larval Tear.

  7. Give a Larval Tear

    Branch: Rebirth outcome

Handing over a tear sends Boc to Rennala. Find him in human form at Raya Lucaria Grand Library; he cannot speak, and reloading reveals his death.

Progression cutoff: This ends his tailoring service. Rennala’s successful player rebirth does not make this safe for Boc.

Notes

  • The Sewing Needle from Coastal Cave and Gold Sewing Needle from Church of Vows serve different stages. The Unalloyed Gold Needle belongs to Millicent’s story.
  • Boc does not turn every armor piece into a new variant. Some garments have no alternate form, and alteration can change their stats as well as their appearance.
  • You use the Prattling Pate in front of him. It is not a handover item selected from his conversation menu.
  • Giving a Larval Tear to Boc is a different action from spending one on your own rebirth at Rennala.
  • Finish his reassurance branch while he is at East Capital Rampart. Leaving the decision unresolved while advancing the capital can make his story harder to recover.
