Bols is the armored troll imprisoned above western Liurnia. Enter Cuckoo’s Evergaol to face him alone and claim Greatblade Phalanx.

Starting Site of Grace: Foot of the Four Belfries
Follow the western Liurnia road north from Revenger's Shack toward the Four Belfries, or start at Foot of the Four Belfries and ride south along the same plateau.
From Foot of the Four Belfries, pass the rock formations occupied by bats and a singing harpy. Continue south to the large circular stone Evergaol on the open ground above the lake.
Interact with the glowing centre to enter Cuckoo's Evergaol and fight Bols, Carian Knight. This arena does not require a Stonesword Key.
Defeat Bols to receive Greatblade Phalanx automatically. Spirit Ashes and ordinary cooperative summons cannot be used for this Evergaol fight.

Notes
The evergaol seal does not require a Stonesword Key. Do not spend keys at another seal while looking for this fight.
Ordinary multiplayer summons and Spirit Ashes are unavailable inside this evergaol. Prepare your own healing and damage options before entering.
His large enchanted sword is not his only threat. Watch for the summoned Magic blades and dodge their approach before starting a slow attack.
Standing at his feet shortens the distance you need to cover, but you still need to avoid stomps and the sword’s ground impacts.
The size of his sword makes backward rolls unreliable at close range. Keep enough room to move past the strike rather than repeatedly retreating along its path.
Greatblade Phalanx is awarded automatically. It is a sorcery rather than a sword pickup, and you still need to meet its Intelligence requirement and memorize it before casting.
The lake below and the plateau above are different routes. Approach the circular seal from the western road near Foot of the Four Belfries.
