About this item
Use it for absolution at the statue in Church of Vows, on eastern Liurnia's raised land. Interact with the statue and choose absolution when the option is available.
One dew is consumed for the absolution. It clears supported NPC hostility, rather than healing your character, removing status ailments or resetting the entire story.
It can let you speak to certain friendly characters again after attacking them. It does not generally revive dead NPCs, restore dead merchants or undo a completed quest branch.

In-game description
A hidden Tear found in the Eternal City.
Also known as a Night Tear.
Allows one to carry out an Absolution at the Church of Vows, reversing all antagonizations.
Once upon a time, the stars of the night sky guided fate, and this is a recollection of those times.
Where to find
Corpse behind the academy's southern seal
Liurnia of the Lakes
Starting Site of Grace: Main Academy Gate
- Take the Academy Glintstone Key from the corpse behind Smarag, north of Temple Quarter in western Liurnia. You can collect it without defeating the dragon.
- Use the key at South Raya Lucaria Gate to reach Main Academy Gate grace. From the grace, walk down the southeastern bridge through its floating seal without activating the travel prompt.
- Follow the descending bridge past the merchant area toward the academy's locked southern gate. Approach the corpse near the gate carefully: a Bloodhound Knight guards it.
- Defeat or evade the knight and loot Celestial Dew. You are on the inner side of the southern gate, reached from Main Academy Gate rather than by approaching its outer face from the lake.
Hermit Merchant beneath Uhl Palace Ruins
Ainsel River
Starting Site of Grace: Ainsel River Downstream
Before you go
- Have 7,500 runes.
- Follow eastern Liurnia's upper road to the circular Ainsel River Well building. Enter and ride its long lift down, then activate the underground grace.
- Take the ant-filled passage into the lower Uhl Palace Ruins. Continue toward the broad chamber where the hanging creature fires stone projectiles, using the pillars and ruins as cover.
- Reach the sheltered merchant building directly below that creature and buy one Celestial Dew for 7,500 runes. You do not have to defeat the Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella farther along the river.
Notes
- Use it for absolution at the statue in Church of Vows, on eastern Liurnia's raised land. Interact with the statue and choose absolution when the option is available.
- One dew is consumed for the absolution. It clears supported NPC hostility, rather than healing your character, removing status ailments or resetting the entire story.
- It can let you speak to certain friendly characters again after attacking them. It does not generally revive dead NPCs, restore dead merchants or undo a completed quest branch.
- If Ranni leaves after the Amber Draught betrayal, absolution can repair that hostility. That does not restore Seluvis or grant optional rewards you missed before his quest ended.
- Do not kill a hostile quest character merely to test absolution afterward. Stop attacking, leave the area and attempt absolution while the character is still alive.
- The statue reports that absolution is unnecessary when you have no eligible hostility to clear. Carrying dew alone does not make the ritual available or spend one automatically.
- Pidia also sells one for 5,000 runes, and further finite pickups lie in the underground cities. The academy corpse and Ainsel merchant are individual options, not the only copies.
- Miriel can explain the church's purpose, but the ritual is performed at its statue. Celestial Dew is unrelated to Rennala's Larval Tear rebirth service.
