1. From Erdtree-Gazing Hill in Altus Plateau, ride east down into the valley, then follow it north between the cliffs. Stay on the lower ground rather than climbing toward Mt. Gelmir's campsites.
2. Continue through the narrow gap until the Shaded Castle appears in its poison swamp. Use the rocks beside the broken southern wall to climb inside, then follow the wall right to Shaded Castle Ramparts grace.
3. Follow the northeastern rampart to the stone support descending toward the courtyard. Enter the wooden shack beside it and examine Champion's Song Painting.

Before you go

• Examine Champion's Song Painting in The Shaded Castle.

1. Travel to Rampartside Path in eastern Altus. Climb onto the high ground south of the grace, near the area where Ancient Dragon Lansseax appears.
2. Follow the northwestern edge of that high ground and look for the seated painter overlooking the landscape. Approach and wait for the spirit to disappear.
3. Collect Harp Bow from the item it leaves. The painting must be examined first; neither Elemer nor Lansseax has to be defeated for this reward.

Notes

• Examine the original painting in the northeastern Shaded Castle shack before looking for its reward. The painter does not appear merely because you reached the right landscape.
• The solution is the high ground south of Rampartside Path, near Lansseax's area. Follow its northwestern edge to the seated painter.
• Approach the spirit and wait for it to fade, then collect Harp Bow from the item left behind. The reward is a light bow, rather than a spell or permanent character buff.
• The painter's position is the viewpoint used to make the picture, rather than the distant landmark shown within it.
• Neither Elemer inside The Shaded Castle nor Lansseax near the viewpoint is required for the painting reward.
• There is no need to equip the picture or spend it as currency. It serves as the clue and unlock for this specific painter encounter.
