About this item

Memento left by the chrysalids sacrificed for grafting. A brooch wrapped in red velvet. Traces of blood are visible.

Faintly visible spirits try to convey something, but their voices cannot be heard.

Body pile near the Grafted Scion dining hall

Stormveil Castle

Starting Site of Grace: Rampart Tower

1. Speak to Roderika at Stormhill Shack before progressing her move to Roundtable Hold. The early memento handover is available while she still sits in the shack.
2. Defeat Margit and take Gostoc's cliffside route into Stormveil. Continue through the storage building and Rusty Key door to reach Rampart Tower grace.
3. Leave along the rampart with the barrel-carrying hawks, follow it to the chapel roof and descend into the chapel where Rogier first appears.
4. Leave the chapel, pass the patrolling knight and follow the connecting rooms toward the large hall containing the Grafted Scion.
5. Search the adjoining body-filled courtyard for the dogs and the corpse pile beneath the hanging remains. Clear the dogs before collecting the item from the pile.
6. Loot Chrysalids' Memento from the body pile before Roderika becomes a spirit tuner. The later version of the pickup is Crimson Hood, not another memento.
7. Return to Roderika at Stormhill Shack, give her the memento and finish her dialogue. Speak to her again after she reaches Roundtable Hold for her Golden Seed reward.

Notes

• Give it to Roderika at Stormhill Shack to advance her move to Roundtable Hold. It is a quest keepsake rather than an upgrade material you give directly to a Spirit Ash.
• Following the handover, speak to Roderika at Roundtable Hold for a Golden Seed. If she moves through later exploration instead, check her old place at Stormhill Shack for the seed rather than assuming that reward is lost.
• The memento is optional for unlocking Spirit Tuning. If Roderika has already moved, speak to her and Hewg at Roundtable Hold until they discuss her gift, then ask Hewg to watch over her and reload.
• After she becomes a spirit tuner, Crimson Hood replaces the memento on the same body pile in Stormveil. Simply seeing her at Roundtable Hold is not the whole spirit-tuning step.
• The dogs in the body-filled courtyard can interrupt the pickup. Clear them or draw them away before searching, and do not mistake the nearby Grafted Scion's drops for this fixed corpse item.
• Spirit Jellyfish Ashes, the Golden Seed and Crimson Hood are separate rewards from her quest. Owning the memento does not automatically add all three to your inventory.
