Before you go
Defeat the Crystalian pair in Altus Tunnel.
Reach Altus Plateau and travel into the woodland south of the Minor Erdtree. Find Altus Tunnel's mine entrance in the rock wall; it is a different dungeon from Old Altus Tunnel.
Take the entrance lift down, activate the grace and follow the mining rooms toward the boss doors. Watch for crystal snails and miners along the route.
Defeat both Crystalians, the spear wielder and ringblade wielder. Their reward is Somberstone Miner's Bell Bearing [2].
Take the bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable Hold and choose the option to offer a bell bearing. Check their main shop afterward for the newly available items.

Notes
Both opponents must be defeated for the second Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing. It unlocks Somber Smithing Stone [3] and Somber Smithing Stone [4] at the Twin Maiden Husks.
Breaking one enemy’s shell does not crack the other. Focus on creating a manageable opening against one opponent rather than spreading every hit between them.
The spear user can keep hopping forward with repeated thrusts. Save stamina for the full chain before counterattacking.
Keep the ringblade user in view while avoiding the spear. Its thrown weapon can cross your retreat path.
Altus Tunnel and Old Altus Tunnel are separate mines. The Stonedigger Troll in the latter does not drop this bearing.
