This Death Rite Bird combines sweeping weapon attacks with ghostflame, Frostbite and delayed ranged attacks. Watch the ground as carefully as the bird itself.

Starting Site of Grace: Snow Valley Ruins Overlook
Before you go
Reach the Mountaintops of the Giants.
After defeating Morgott, use the Rold Medallion at Grand Lift of Rold to enter the Mountaintops. Follow the route through Zamor Ruins, along the narrow mountain bridge and past the early ruins toward Snow Valley Ruins Overlook.
From Snow Valley Ruins Overlook, head west through the graveyard toward the cliff south of Castle Sol. Stay on the upper ground rather than descending toward the castle entrance.
Approach the cliffside area to encounter the Death Rite Bird. Defeat this bird to receive Death Ritual Spear. The birds in other regions have different rewards.

Notes
This victory gives Death Ritual Spear. It is a separate encounter from the bird in Consecrated Snowfield.
Unlike the earlier regional birds, this one is available during daylight as well as at night. An empty arena is not automatically a time-of-day problem.
Stay on the upper graveyard route west from Snow Valley Ruins Overlook. Dropping toward Castle Sol takes you below the approach to the bird.
Holy damage and anti-undead effects are useful against this bird. A Holy Water Pot is a different tool from an ordinary Fire Pot, even though both use a throwing container.
The pale flames left on the ground continue to hurt after the initial swing and build Frostbite. Move onto clear ground before trying to heal or cast a slow spell.
The hovering wing attacks can leave tracking projectiles active while the bird starts another move. Keep watching those projectiles after the bird’s animation changes.
When it prepares the large ghostflame burst, create space and look for a clear path between the trails afterward. Dodging the first blast does not remove the fire left behind.
Fighting directly under the head risks pecks, a grab and awkward camera movement. Circle toward its rear when possible, while still watching for the next repositioning attack.
