Deathbird (Ruins southeast of Warmaster’s Shack)
A Deathbird descends onto these ruins at night. This is the ordinary skeletal bird, rather than the larger ghostflame-wielding Death Rite Bird.

Starting Site of Grace: Warmaster's Shack
Before you go
Visit at night.
Follow the road northeast from Stormhill Shack to Warmaster's Shack. Activate its grace and pass time until night. You do not need to buy anything from Bernahl for the Deathbird.
Leave the shack and head southeast, dropping the short ledge into the open field patrolled by trolls. Keep away from their feet as you approach the collapsed stone ruins.
Walk onto the broken ruins covered in Ruin Fragments and Sanctuary Stones. The Deathbird appears here at night; it is not the nighttime boss inside the shack.
Keep the fight away from nearby trolls so they do not join in. Defeat this Deathbird to receive Blue-Feathered Branchsword directly.
HP and damage negation

Notes
Defeat this Deathbird for Blue-Feathered Branchsword. The Bell Bearing Hunter inside Warmaster’s Shack is a separate night encounter.
It appears at night over the collapsed ruins in the troll field. You do not need to buy anything from Bernahl to make the bird appear.
Clear space away from the nearby trolls before committing to the fight. They can become a second threat if you keep retreating through the field.
Holy damage and effects made specifically for Those Who Live in Death are useful here. Sacred Blade and Holy Water Pots are options even before you have a high-Faith spell setup.
Keep clear of the beak when you are directly under its head. Close range avoids some wide swings, but is not a safe place to stand still.
Its short screech can build Death Blight, and its grab punishes standing at an awkward middle distance. Leave the screech’s immediate area instead of continuing a long attack through it.
A moving head can pull the lock-on camera around. Change your lock point or briefly unlock if the camera makes it harder to see the ground and the next swing.
