About this item

This is the Dragonbarrow half. The matching left half is in the tower chest at Fort Haight in southeastern Limgrave. One half on its own cannot operate the lift.

Keep both halves in your inventory and stand on the Grand Lift of Dectus platform in northeastern Liurnia. Choose Hoist medallion at the large statues to ride to Altus Plateau. There is no crafting or equipment step.

Neither half is consumed by using the lift. They are key items, rather than talismans, and give no passive combat bonus.

In-game description

Right half of a split medallion depicting the Erdtree.

Brandishing the medallion with both halves conjoined will activate the Grand Lift of Dectus, connecting the Altus Plateau to Liurnia.

The left half is said to reside in the coastal Fort Haight to the far west.

Where to find

Chest above Fort Faroth's bat chamber

Dragonbarrow

Starting Site of Grace: Fort Faroth

  1. Reach the Third Church of Marika in northeastern Limgrave. Behind the church, follow the shallow stream into the bushes to find the sending gate against the cliff. Use it to reach Bestial Sanctum in Dragonbarrow.
  2. Activate Bestial Sanctum grace inside, then ride south past the Black Blade Kindred outside. Follow the road downhill to Farum Greatbridge and activate its grace before crossing.
  3. Ride across the bridge past Flying Dragon Greyll. Turn right toward the Minor Erdtree and use the spiritspring beside the cliff to reach the higher plateau. The dragon and Putrid Avatar are optional fights for this route.
  4. Ride toward the huge resting dragon Greyoll and the fort beside her. Activate Fort Faroth grace outside the entrance. Neither Greyoll nor the smaller dragons need to be killed.
  5. Bring a light into the dark entrance chamber. Move past the bats and the chanting winged enemy to the ladder at the far side, then climb to the tower platform.
  6. Open the chest straight ahead for Dectus Medallion (Right). You can leave after this pickup; the rooftop holes and lower rat rooms lead to other loot, including Radagon's Soreseal.

Notes

  • This is the Dragonbarrow half. The matching left half is in the tower chest at Fort Haight in southeastern Limgrave. One half on its own cannot operate the lift.
  • Keep both halves in your inventory and stand on the Grand Lift of Dectus platform in northeastern Liurnia. Choose Hoist medallion at the large statues to ride to Altus Plateau. There is no crafting or equipment step.
  • Neither half is consumed by using the lift. They are key items, rather than talismans, and give no passive combat bonus.
  • Ruin-Strewn Precipice and Magma Wyrm Makar provide a different route to Altus without these halves. Finding the medallions does not require clearing Stormveil or Raya Lucaria.
  • Dragonbarrow is dangerous for an early character, but the medallion chest has no boss requirement. Sprinting past enemies can work; activate the grace outside first so a failed attempt has a short return.
  • Do not drop into Fort Faroth's lower rat rooms for this item. The chest above the bats is the medallion pickup, separate from Radagon's Soreseal.
