Draconic Tree Sentinel (Capital Outskirts)

A fire-breathing mount and red lightning distinguish this gatekeeper from the ordinary Tree Sentinels.

Before you go

Reach the Capital Outskirts.

Reach Altus Plateau through Dectus or Ruin-Strewn Precipice and follow the eastern highway through the capital outskirts to Outer Wall Battleground.
From Outer Wall Battleground, follow the outer road east and then northeast toward Leyndell's entrance. Pass the archer golems and approach the mounted Draconic Tree Sentinel guarding the gate.
Defeat him to receive Dragonclaw Shield and Dragon Greatclaw. The mounted sentinel outside Maliketh's room in Farum Azula does not drop this shield.

Notes

Victory awards Dragon Greatclaw and Dragonclaw Shield. The Sentinel outside Maliketh’s arena has a different reward.
The horse can fire at you while you retreat. Wait for a committed action before healing rather than assuming range alone is safe.
Watch the shield when the lightning attacks begin. A raised shield can call a targeted strike, while the sweeping motion calls danger around the rider.
Keep a clear path out of the lightning field before returning to attack.
Defeating the rider clears this gatekeeper, but Leyndell’s seal still has its progression requirements. A blocked entrance afterward is not another phase.
The archer golems on the approach are separate enemies. Clear or pass them before settling into the boss fight.
