Ensha of the Royal Remains

Ensha is the silent armored attendant outside Gideon’s study. Collecting a Haligtree Secret Medallion half can turn your next visit to the Hold into his scripted attack.

Starting Site of Grace: Table of Lost Grace

  1. From the central table, enter the corridor leading toward the Twin Maiden Husks.
  2. Inspect the armored figure leaning beside Gideon’s doorway before progressing the medallion events.

When available: After obtaining a secret-medallion half while his invasion is still available.

Starting Site of Grace: Table of Lost Grace

  1. If you want Ensha's What Do You Want? gesture, interact with him outside Gideon's study before collecting the medallion. The invasion ends that earlier meeting.
  2. Complete the Albus medallion, invasion and armor pickup early, before burning the Erdtree. This route is available in Liurnia and does not need to wait for the Mountaintops or the left medallion half.
  3. From southern Liurnia's lake, travel under the huge western cliff to the poisoned village beneath it. Follow the rising path past the hanging bodies to Village of the Albinaurics grace.
  4. Continue uphill past the perfumer, but stop before crossing the stone bridge toward the Omenkiller.
  5. Look beside the path for a large pot. Roll into it or strike it once to reveal Albus, then speak to him until he hands over the medallion half.
  6. After Albus appears, stop attacking and finish his dialogue to receive the right half. The Omenkiller across the bridge is unnecessary for this conversation.
  7. Return to Roundtable Hold with the medallion half. Ensha invades in a darkened version of the hold. Defeat him to receive Clinging Bone and return to the normal rooms.
  8. Afterward, go to the wall outside Gideon's study where Ensha used to stand. Loot the four Royal Remains pieces there. The armor is a separate pickup after the weapon reward.

Quest steps can include different outcomes. Read the branch, conditions and cutoffs before making a choice.

  1. Meet him before the attack

    Branch: Main quest

    Interact with Ensha outside Gideon’s study to receive What Do You Want? He does not need a long spoken conversation.

  2. Obtain a secret-medallion half

    Branch: Main quest

    The early route is Albus in the Village of the Albinaurics. Return to the Hold ready for a fight.

  3. Defeat Ensha

    Branch: Main quest

    Fight him in the altered Hold. Victory restores the usual hub visit and awards Clinging Bone.

  4. Collect the armor

    Branch: Main quest

    Back in the normal Hold, search his former position outside Gideon’s study for the Royal Remains set. Ask Gideon about the attack for the follow-up conversation.

Notes

  • This is a scripted NPC invasion. It does not mean an online player bypassed the Hold’s normal safe-area rules.
  • The medallion is not consumed by the attack. You can continue using it for Latenna and the snowfield route.
  • Ensha’s normal silent position and the hostile Hold fight are two states of one character.
  • Complete the early interaction before advancing the late main story if you want his gesture as well as the invasion rewards.
  • After victory, look beside Gideon’s doorway for the armor rather than searching only where the invader died.
