The mountain Avatar guards a narrow plateau beyond a bridge and can split into a second attacker during the fight.

Before you go
Defeat Morgott and obtain access to the Mountaintops of the Giants.
After defeating Morgott in Leyndell, obtain the Rold Medallion from Melina and take the Grand Lift of Rold beyond the Forbidden Lands.
Follow the Mountaintops route to Freezing Lake, then climb onto the high ground north of the lake and head west through the graveyard toward Snow Valley Ruins Overlook.
Turn southwest toward the Minor Erdtree and cross the narrow bridge to the tree's plateau. Keep away from the bridge edges while enemies are nearby.
Defeat the Erdtree Avatar beside the trunk. You receive Crimson Bubbletear and the second Cerulean Crystal Tear together.

Notes
The rewards are Crimson Bubbletear and a second Cerulean Crystal Tear. Both are awarded on completion.
The duplicate is part of this encounter, rather than another boss at a separate location. Keep both bodies in view once it appears.
Move away from the narrow access bridge before settling into the fight. Backing toward its edge makes the Avatar’s wide attacks much harder to manage.
Do not begin a long attack just because one body has finished swinging. The other can still be preparing a strike.
Reach this plateau through the ordinary Mountaintops route after Morgott. The secret Snowfield Avatar is a separate encounter with different rewards.
