Erdtree Burial Watchdog (Cliffbottom Catacombs)

The staff-wielding Watchdog at the end of Cliffbottom Catacombs adds Magic projectiles to the familiar stone statue attacks. The Omen-filled lower route is the way to its lever.

Starting Site of Grace: Cliffbottom Catacombs

From Liurnia Highway North grace, descend along the outside of the eastern cliff. Loop around the sloping rock at the bottom and look back along the cliff face for Cliffbottom Catacombs.
Activate the entrance grace and take the lift down. Clear the imps in the first corridor, including the one hiding around the right corner. Descend to the locked boss doors, then take the passage to their right.
Follow the passage into the large chamber where stairs cross above a deep Omen-filled floor. The lever is visible across the chamber but cannot be reached directly from these stairs.
Drop from the stairway to the lower Omen chamber. Use the grass and corners to keep the patrolling Omen from noticing you, or clear the enemies one at a time. The bones underfoot can alert them.
Take the eastern passage out of the lower chamber. Avoid its floor trap and follow the twisting corridor past the next Omen to the ladder at the far end. Do not stop on the ladder approach if the Omen is following.
Climb the ladder. An Omen faces an altar on the left; Page Ashes are the fixed pickup at that altar. The right-hand hallway continues toward the boss lever.
Take the hallway on the right, clear the imp ambush near its end and pull the lever. Drop from the lever ledge onto the stairs, then follow the entry passage back to the boss doors.
Go through the opened doors and defeat the staff-wielding Erdtree Burial Watchdog. It awards Kaiden Sellsword Ashes directly. The boss can cast Magic projectiles, so use the room's pillars as cover while waiting for a safe attack opening.

Notes

The reward is Kaiden Sellsword Ashes. Page Ashes lie at the separate altar near the upper ladder and are not the boss reward.
Watch for the ring of Magic blades forming around its staff. Let the projectiles approach before dodging across their path; attacking immediately when they appear can leave you trapped in a casting animation.
The arena’s pillars provide cover from the projectiles. Leave enough room beside a pillar to dodge the Watchdog itself if it closes the distance.
Its staff changes the ranged threat, but it still uses the hovering body slam. Keep watching for repeated landings before moving in.
The Omen near the route’s ladder and lever do not need to be brought into this fight. Lose their attention or clear the approach before entering the opened boss doors.
A Strike weapon is useful against the stone body. The Magic projectiles are a reason to consider Magic protection alongside your ordinary defenses.
Return from the lever by dropping onto the staircase. You do not need to repeat the entire lower Omen loop for each attempt.
