- Expands crafting repertoire
In-game description
A record of crafting techniques left by a man who was utterly captivated by St. Trina. He continued the search for her in his slumber.
Acquire the knowledge to craft the following:
- Bewitching Branch
Where to find
Gideon's study
Roundtable Hold
Starting Site of Grace: Table of Lost Grace
Before you go
- Visit Mohgwyn Palace
- Obtain the right Haligtree Secret Medallion half from Albus in Village of the Albinaurics, beneath southwestern Liurnia's plateau. Follow the village path uphill past the perfumer, reveal the large pot before the bridge and speak to Albus. Stop attacking once he appears.
- Obtain the left half from the rooftop beyond Commander Niall in Castle Sol. After defeating Niall, go through the exit behind his arena, ride the tower lift and collect the half beside the seated spirit. It is a separate pickup from his direct weapon reward.
- Return to the Grand Lift of Rold and switch the action to Hoist secret medallion. Follow Hidden Path to the Haligtree through to the snowy exit. The ordinary Rold Medallion goes to the other part of the Mountaintops.
- Activate Consecrated Snowfield grace near the exit. For Inner Consecrated Snowfield, continue north through the blizzard until the open ground becomes clearer; keep the grace as a safe return point.
- From Inner Consecrated Snowfield, ride west toward the cliff northwest of Yelough Anix Ruins. Among the pale tree stumps, defeat the invading Sanguine Noble. This activates the nearby sending gate.
- Continue west to the fallen tree near the cliff. Just south of it, find the blood-covered sending gate beside an Albinauric. Use the gate, leave the dark cave and follow the left-hand downhill trail to Palace Approach Ledge-Road grace.
- Activate Palace Approach Ledge-Road grace after leaving the portal cave. You only need to visit Mohgwyn Palace for this reward; leave Mohg alive if you still want the White Mask invasions.
- Return to Roundtable Hold and find Gideon in his study off the main hall. Ask about Mohgwyn Palace to receive the cookbook. If he still has introductory dialogue, finish it and return to the topic.
Twin Maiden Husks, late fallback
Roundtable Hold
Starting Site of Grace: Table of Lost Grace
Before you go
- Gideon has left
- 2,000 runes
- After defeating Maliketh, Gideon leaves Roundtable Hold. If you never claimed the book, open the Twin Maiden Husks' main shop and buy it for 2,000 runes. This is one copy rather than an unlimited stock.
Notes
- Unlocks Bewitching Branches.
- The book unlocks its recipes without being equipped or consumed. You also need the Crafting Kit from Kalé at the Church of Elleh to use Item Crafting.
- You keep the book and its recipes in later Journeys. Its number identifies the contents rather than a required collection order.
- Bewitching Branch: each craft makes 1, using 1 Sacramental Bud and 1 Miquella's Lily.
- A Bewitching Branch can turn a susceptible enemy into a temporary ally. Each uses a Miquella's Lily and a Sacramental Bud, so choose targets before spending rare ingredients.
- Gideon wants information about the palace. You do not need to spend Mohg's remembrance or defeat him to unlock this recipe. A Bewitching Branch still only works on enemies that can be charmed.
- Activate a grace in Mohgwyn Palace before reporting back. Merely seeing the distant palace from Siofra River does not count as visiting it.
- This recipe is different from Lulling Branch, which restores your own FP while building Sleep. Bewitching Branch is used at close range to charm a vulnerable enemy.
