Forager Brood
The Forager Brood are peaceful pests who share crafting knowledge with Moore’s friends. Six members give their own cookbooks, and helping the injured one unlocks Moore’s seventh book.
Starting Site of Grace: Ruined Forge of Starfall Past
Before you go
Moore remains alive and friendly
Reach Scadu Altus and head toward Ruined Forge of Starfall Past, southeast of Castle Ensis.
From the entrance, follow the nearby cliffs northwest toward the castle walls.
Find the lone, nonhostile pest foraging by the wall. Approach without attacking and use the talk prompt to receive the book.

Starting Site of Grace: Cliffroad Terminus

Take the cliff road south from Main Gate Cross to Cliffroad Terminus and Prospect Town.
Search the small hill by the cliffs east of the town. Look for the lone pest outside the ruins.
Approach peacefully and talk to it for the cookbook.

Starting Site of Grace: Ellac River Downstream

From Castle Front, ride south to the crossroads, turn east and follow the road to the next fork. Take the right-hand dirt track, then the left fork downhill toward the southeast.
Pass the bloodfiends and descend into the shallow poison area. Follow the lower path down toward the river rather than climbing toward the fort; watch for militia and poison traps along the descent.
At the bottom is a shallow pool with a giant crab. Turn southwest into the opening in the cliff, continue through the cave past the Revered Spirit Ash chamber and activate Ellac River Cave grace.
Leave by the southern cave exit and turn south along the river. Use Torrent to cross the successive rock ledges beside the waterfall, landing on the nearby rocks rather than jumping to the valley floor.
Continue down the ledge path past the stone birds, watching for the living ones to attack. Drop down the short rock steps to Ellac River Downstream grace.
From Downstream, continue south beside the lower falls. Cross the long rock pillar toward the east and use its far side to reach the lower water safely.
The lower basin opens toward a Furnace Golem. Its fight is optional for reaching the coast, the friendly forager or the lightning-flower pond.
Before going through to the coast, follow the eastern cliff into the small wood with lightning sheep. Look along its northern cliff wall for the friendly forager.
Dismount and talk to it without attacking. It gives Forager Brood Cookbook [3] and three Yellow Fulgurblooms. The nearby pond is south of the forager.

Warming Stone or Sunwarmth Stone
Reach the Church of the Crusade northwest of Highroad Cross, then search north of the church along the cliffs.
Find the curled-up, shivering pest. Place a Warming Stone or Sunwarmth Stone beside it and allow the healing to work.
Rest at a grace or travel away and return so the area reloads.
Once the forager is up and digging, talk to it to receive the cookbook.
Return to Moore at Main Gate Cross afterward for the related seventh book.

Head north from Moorth Ruins to the pond and the cave entrance beside it.
Pass through the cave with the large flowers to the poison swamp on the far side. Look along its edge near the tree and cliff overlooking Castle Watering Hole.
Approach the lone friendly pest near the swamp's edge. Talk to it for the cookbook.
Stay clear of the poisonous water while speaking, and do not attack the forager.

From Highroad Cross in Scadu Altus, follow the road east to Moorth Ruins and activate the grace beside the cross.
Pass through the large stone arch east-southeast of the grace. At the house ahead, turn left toward the leaning tower. Avoid the large open shaft behind the house, which is too deep for a direct drop.
Find the smaller gap between the broken building and the rock wall in front of the leaning tower. Drop onto the balcony-like ledge, turn right past the dogs and follow the cave inward.
In the open chamber at the end, take the back-left ledges down onto the lower roof. Look for the small shrine guarded by three Inquisitors and collect Golden Arcs from the chest inside.
To continue east, drop from the lower roof to the ground and take the cave beside the building on the left. Follow it to the long ladder and climb out of the well at Bonny Village grace.
Go east through Bonny Village, watching for the large cleaver-wielding villagers, and cross the two suspension bridges. The second brings you to Bridge Leading to the Village grace.
Follow the road north through the woods and around its bend to Church District Highroad grace. Continue toward the northern keep entrance for the forager, or take the cathedral branch for the lakeshore recipe.
Stay outside the Church District entrance tunnel. Follow the slope around its southern side and turn west onto the higher ground above the road, near the keep's outer wall.
Look along the wall toward the cliff for the friendly pest partly buried as it forages. Talk to it for Forager Brood Cookbook [6]; do not attack it or use an area attack beside it.
Collect the book before choosing an answer that sends Moore away. You do not need to enter the flooded district or drain its water.
Quest steps
Quest steps can include different outcomes. Read the branch, conditions and cutoffs before making a choice.

Look for the interaction prompt when you find a lone forager. These friendly members resemble hostile pests, so stop before using an area attack.
Collect the individual books
Branch: Main quest
Talk to the six foragers at their separate locations. The first three books and books five and six are conversation gifts while the friendly state remains available.
Heal the fourth member
Branch: Main quest
North of Church of the Crusade, place a Warming Stone or Sunwarmth Stone beside the shivering forager. Let it heal, reload the area and speak for Cookbook [4].
Return to Moore
Branch: Main quest
After the healing and fourth book, speak to Moore at Main Gate Cross for Cookbook [7]. Do this before choosing an answer that sends him away.

Notes
Do not assume that every pest is friendly. These members have a talk interaction and are connected to Moore’s quest.
Killing them can trigger Moore’s retaliation and remove unclaimed cookbook gifts. Their books are not intended as ordinary enemy drops.
The sixth member is above the Church District approach tunnel. You do not need to drain Shadow Keep’s flooded district to reach it.
Approaching the sixth member’s region can break Miquella’s charm. That world event is different from choosing Moore’s departure answer.
For the fourth member, use a healing stone and return after the area reloads. A weapon hit or ordinary attack does not help it.
The seventh cookbook follows the injured member’s recovery. You do not need to wait for the sixth member near the Church District.
