Before you go

  • Moore remains alive and friendly
  1. Head north from Moorth Ruins to the pond and the cave entrance beside it.
  2. Pass through the cave with the large flowers to the poison swamp on the far side. Look along its edge near the tree and cliff overlooking Castle Watering Hole.
  3. Approach the lone friendly pest near the swamp's edge. Talk to it for the cookbook.
  4. Stay clear of the poisonous water while speaking, and do not attack the forager.

  • The book unlocks its recipes without being equipped or consumed. You also need the Crafting Kit from Kalé at the Church of Elleh to use Item Crafting.
  • You keep the book and its recipes in later Journeys. Its number identifies the contents rather than a required collection order.
  • Opaline Pickled Liver: each craft makes 1, using 3 Rada Fruit, 1 Beast Liver, 1 Scorpion Liver, and 1 Pearlescent Scale.
  • These foragers are friendly. Talk to them instead of attacking them.
  • Collect the brood books while Moore is alive and before choosing an answer that sends him away. Hurting the brood can make Moore hostile and block the remaining rewards.
  • Opaline Pickled Liver improves several elemental defenses together. Its recipe needs Rada Fruit, Beast Liver, Scorpion Liver and a Pearlescent Scale.
  • The forager is beyond the cave through the cliff, in the poison swamp. It is separate from the enemies inside Moorth Ruins and from the friendly forager near Castle Ensis.
  • When Moore asks how he should move on after the charm breaks, leave that choice unanswered until you have collected the brood books. The charm breaking by itself is different from choosing an answer that makes him leave.
