About this crafting material
Four Formic Rocks are spent for each Acid Spraymist. The recipe also needs Altus Bloom, Miranda Powder and an available Perfume Bottle.
Perfumer's Cookbook (4) unlocks the recipe. Its merchant is farther along this same lower Ainsel River route, so collecting the rocks alone does not unlock crafting.
Acid Spraymist weakens an enemy's physical attack damage for a time. Despite being made from ant venom, it is not a Poison buildup spray or permanent weapon-breaking item.

In-game description
Rock formed from solidified giant ant venom. Highly acidic. Material used for crafting items.
Found near Ainsel River and other places where giant ants live.
Where to find
Ant passages reached from Ainsel River Well
Ainsel River
Starting Site of Grace: Ainsel River Well Depths
- On eastern Liurnia's plateau, head north from Eastern Tableland to the round Ainsel River Well building. Ride the lift down and activate Ainsel River Well Depths grace.
- Take the tunnel on the left toward the giant ants. Watch the ceiling as well as the floor; drawing them down one at a time is safer than being surrounded beneath them.
- At the first lit junction, turn right. The left branch ends at a Smithing Stone pickup rather than the route onward.
- At the next split in the chamber full of corpses, take the right branch toward the large stone structure. Climb the path on the right and cross the bridge back to the left.
- Search the ant chambers and the corpse-filled tunnel for Formic Rock pickups. Clear the ants hanging above the route before stopping to loot.
- Fixed corpse bundles stay collected. For more material after those are gone, defeat the ordinary Giant Ants in these tunnels and collect their random drops.
- Return to Ainsel River Well Depths and rest to reset the ants. The merchant, Dragonkin Soldier and later Ranni route are unnecessary for this first ant farm.

- Take the tunnel on the left toward the giant ants. Watch the ceiling as well as the floor; drawing them down one at a time is safer than being surrounded beneath them.
- Defeat the ants in the opening tunnels one at a time. Check the drops before resting at the nearby grace and repeating.
- Their acid spray reaches in front of them, and ceiling ants can fall behind you. Avoid rushing into the middle of the nest just to collect a drop.
Notes
- Four Formic Rocks are spent for each Acid Spraymist. The recipe also needs Altus Bloom, Miranda Powder and an available Perfume Bottle.
- Perfumer's Cookbook (4) unlocks the recipe. Its merchant is farther along this same lower Ainsel River route, so collecting the rocks alone does not unlock crafting.
- Acid Spraymist weakens an enemy's physical attack damage for a time. Despite being made from ant venom, it is not a Poison buildup spray or permanent weapon-breaking item.
- Ordinary Giant Ants provide a renewable random supply. Some variants have different drop rates, so do not assume every ant guarantees a rock.
- Corpse bundles are one-time pickups. Item Discovery can improve eligible enemy drops, but cannot refill a looted corpse.
- The four rocks and plant ingredients are consumed by crafting. The Perfume Bottle becomes available again after using the prepared mixture.
- This is an ingredient, rather than something you throw or equip directly. Its acidic description does not make it an armor debuff by itself.
