About this spellbook

Prayerbook that contains the secrets of the Fire Giants.

Kept hidden by the prelates who monitor the Giant's Flame.

Can be given to a learned cleric to gain access to the following incantations:

- Giantsflame Take Thee

- Flame, Fall Upon Them

Chest at the top of Guardians' Garrison

Mountaintops of the Giants

Starting Site of Grace: Whiteridge Road

Before you go

• Defeat Morgott, receive the Rold Medallion and reach the Mountaintops.

1. Reach the Mountaintops through the Grand Lift of Rold, then follow the main route to Whiteridge Road and Guardians' Garrison.
2. Enter the fort and find the ladder leading to the upper level. Watch for the monks and guardians while climbing through the courtyard.
3. Past the first hostile guardian above, find the broken section of the western wall. Use that gap to step onto the wooden scaffolding outside.
4. Follow the walkway around the fort and climb to the upper landing, where Chief Guardian Arghanthy guards the next tower.
5. Deal with Arghanthy, enter the tower he was guarding and climb its ladder.
6. Open the chest on the top landing for Giant's Prayerbook.

Notes

• Unlocks Giantsflame Take Thee and Flame, Fall Upon Them for purchase.
• Give the prayerbook to Brother Corhyn or Miriel. Corhyn starts at Roundtable Hold and moves during his quest, so check where you last met him.
• Miriel stays at the Church of Vows on the raised ground in eastern Liurnia. From the Artist's Shack, follow the road north and take the uphill branch toward the church.
• Handing over the book opens new shop stock. Choose Purchase and spend runes on the spells; they are not learned for free or equipped automatically.
• Spells you have bought carry into later journeys. The book and its teaching unlock do not, so buy the spells you want before starting another journey.
• The book is in the tower chest. Arghanthy's shield drop is a separate reward and does not include the book.
• The broken wall and outside walkway are the route upward. Searching only the fort's lower rooms will not reach the chest.
• The Fire Giant does not need to be defeated for this pickup. Guardians' Garrison is earlier on the Mountaintops route.
• If the teacher later dies, their bell bearing can preserve spells already unlocked in that shop. The Twin Maiden Husks cannot receive a new scroll or prayerbook through a bearing.
• Giantsflame Take Thee needs 30 Faith; Flame, Fall Upon Them needs 28 Faith.
• Giantsflame Take Thee uses two memory slots. Leave both slots free at a grace before trying to memorize it; meeting the Faith requirement alone is not enough.
• Giantsflame Take Thee throws one large fireball, while Flame, Fall Upon Them throws a group. Both can be charged, giving you a choice between a single blast and a wider spread.
