Before you go

• Academy Glintstone Key

1. Collect the Academy Glintstone Key from the corpse behind the sleeping dragon on the island north of Temple Quarter, west of Raya Lucaria. You can grab it without defeating the dragon.
2. At South Raya Lucaria Gate, examine the blue seal to reach Main Academy Gate. Take the nearby lift up, climb past the two spellcasters and enter the church.
3. Watch for the marionettes dropping inside, then use the side doorway to activate Church of the Cuckoo grace. Continue out into the graveyard.
4. Follow the graveyard path down across the wooden bridge, then uphill on the far side. The crawling enemies try to grab you and drain FP. Pass through the torch-lit doorway at the far end to reach the waterwheel.
5. Step onto an ascending platform and ride upward. Jump off at the upper landing before the wheel carries you over, then climb the stairs into Schoolhouse Classroom and activate its grace.
6. Leave the grace room up the short stairs into the corridor, watch for the patrolling enemy and turn left into the room at the end. Open the chest on the right for the cookbook.
7. The same room contains Conspectus Scroll. The hidden wall and exterior ledge are optional; you do not need them, the rooftop route or either academy boss for this chest.

Notes

• Unlocks Magic Grease, Drawstring Magic Grease, Magicbone Arrows, Magicbone Arrows (Fletched) and Magicbone Bolts.
• The book unlocks its recipes without being equipped or consumed. You also need the Crafting Kit from Kalé at the Church of Elleh to use Item Crafting.
• You keep the book and its recipes in later Journeys. Its number identifies the contents rather than a required collection order.
• Magic Grease: each craft makes 1, using 1 Root Resin and 1 Crystal Bud.
• Drawstring Magic Grease: each craft makes 1, using 1 Root Resin, 1 Crystal Bud, and 1 String.
• Magicbone Arrow (Fletched): each craft makes 10, using 3 Thin Beast Bones, 2 Glintstone Firefly, and 1 Flight Pinion.
• Magicbone Arrow: each craft makes 10, using 3 Thin Beast Bones and 2 Glintstone Firefly.
• Magicbone Bolt: each craft makes 10, using 2 Thin Beast Bones and 2 Glintstone Firefly.
• The greases add magic damage to a compatible weapon. The ammunition is crafted separately for bows and crossbows.
• Magicbone ammunition uses Glintstone Fireflies, while the greases use Crystal Buds. A fletched arrow also needs a Flight Pinion; bolts are for crossbows and cannot be fired from a bow.
• Grease and weapon enchantments can be applied only while using a weapon and affinity that allow weapon buffs. Crafting this grease does not make every weapon eligible.
