A record of crafting techniques left by a glintstone craftsman who served the academy.

Contains information on "faux sorceries," such as they were called.

Before you go

• Reach Consecrated Snowfield

1. Obtain the right half from Albus, disguised as a pot uphill from Village of the Albinaurics grace beneath Liurnia's western plateau. Obtain the left half from the tower rooftop beyond Commander Niall at Castle Sol.
2. Return to the Grand Lift of Rold, stand at the medallion prompt and switch actions to Hoist secret medallion. The ordinary Hoist medallion action leads to a different region.
3. In Hidden Path to the Haligtree, follow the main corridor and take the steps on the left up through the Militia and Land Octopus enemies. Stay on the normal walkway; dropping through the broken railing starts an optional lower dungeon.
4. Activate Hidden Path to the Haligtree grace near the exit and continue outside. The lower Stray Mimic Tear boss is unnecessary for the snowfield.
5. Travel north through the blizzard, following the road and its lights rather than riding toward the cliff edges. Activate Consecrated Snowfield and continue toward Inner Consecrated Snowfield as visibility improves.
6. From Inner Consecrated Snowfield, head east while staying south of the frozen river. Continue northeast toward Albinauric Rise on the eastern high ground.
7. Before reaching the tower, loot the corpse surrounded by three floating masses of stone faces. It is southwest of the rise, in the open rather than inside the sealed building.
8. Collect the cookbook while keeping clear of their attacks. You do not need to solve the tower's imp puzzle for this pickup.

Notes

• Unlocks Academy Magic Pots.
• The book unlocks its recipes without being equipped or consumed. You also need the Crafting Kit from Kalé at the Church of Elleh to use Item Crafting.
• You keep the book and its recipes in later Journeys. Its number identifies the contents rather than a required collection order.
• Academy Magic Pot: each craft makes 1, using 2 Glintstone Firefly and 1 Old Fang.
• Each Academy Magic Pot needs an empty Ritual Pot. Throwing it frees the container for another craft; the ingredients are spent.
• This is a different recipe from the ordinary Magic Pot taught by the fourth book. That recipe uses a Cracked Pot and does not need an Old Fang.
