About this item

Glintstone whetblade with a cipher engraved. Can be used as a whetstone knife.

When applying an affinity using physical or magic-type ashes of war, an additional affinity of magic or frost can be chosen.

Starting Site of Grace: Debate Parlor

1. Enter Raya Lucaria with the Academy Glintstone Key and defeat Red Wolf of Radagon.
2. Leave Debate Parlor into the courtyard and turn left toward the broken staircase on its western side.
3. Climb the rubble and stairs, pass the sorcerers and enter the room beneath the two upper Glintstone Sorcerers.
4. Loot the corpse inside for Glintstone Whetblade.

Notes

• Adds Magic and Cold affinity choices to compatible Ashes of War.
• Magic adds magic damage and Intelligence scaling. Cold adds frostbite buildup, but its remaining physical scaling depends on the weapon.
• An elemental Ash can restrict which extra affinities are offered. Owning the whetblade does not remove the Ash's compatibility rules.
• It is a permanent key item. Changing affinity does not consume it.
• Its extra Magic and Cold choices work with physical Ashes and compatible magic or cold Ashes. A fire or lightning Ash does not gain every elemental affinity from this item.
• Cold buildup does not increase just because you raise Intelligence. Intelligence affects the weapon's relevant damage scaling, while Frostbite buildup follows its own rules.
• Magic and Cold affinities normally prevent grease and ordinary weapon enchantments. A coating supplied by the weapon's own skill is a separate case.
• The knife or whetblade carries into later Journeys. Changing an affinity does not spend it, and you do not need another copy for a second weapon.
