Before you go
One Stonesword Key.
Reach Altus Plateau by the Grand Lift of Dectus or the Ruin-Strewn Precipice. Head toward the lower cliffs southwest of Altus Highway Junction.
Find the circular evergaol on the lower ground, southeast of the Grand Lift of Dectus exit area.
Use one Stonesword Key at its imp statue, then stand in the center and enter the evergaol.
Defeat Godefroy the Grafted to receive Godfrey Icon. This is a separate boss from Godrick in Stormveil.

Defeating him awards Godfrey Icon. It is a talisman reward, not Godrick’s Great Rune or a remembrance.
Opening the prison costs one Stonesword Key. Spirit Ashes and cooperative summons cannot enter.
The axe windups are delayed. Watch the weapon start moving rather than dodging at the first raised arm.
His ground strikes can continue into another shockwave. Save room and stamina instead of punishing the first impact.
Do not wait for a dragon-head second phase. The axe and storm moves remain the core of this encounter.
Godefroy and Godrick are separate fights. Clearing Stormveil does not remove this evergaol enemy.
