Give this to Boc to let his tailoring service handle compatible special garments, including alterable demigod armor. He must first receive the ordinary Sewing Needle from Coastal Cave.

Own an eligible unaltered demigod garment from Enia, such as Radahn's Lion Armor, and speak to Boc about his inability to alter that clothing. That conversation leads to the option to give him the gold needle.

A random piece of boss equipment is not enough if it has no supported alteration. A helm or garment with no altered version will not serve as a substitute for the eligible chest.

Starting Site of Grace: Church of Vows

  1. Reach Artist's Shack on eastern Liurnia's plateau. From the shack, follow the route north across the rocks, then take the slope northwest up toward the ruined church.
  2. Activate Church of Vows grace and enter the roofless church with Miriel, the large turtle. The chest is to the right of the main entrance, beside the absolution basin.
  3. Open the chest to collect Gold Sewing Needle and Golden Tailoring Tools together. Neither Miriel nor the nighttime Bell Bearing Hunter needs to be defeated.

  • Give this to Boc to let his tailoring service handle compatible special garments, including alterable demigod armor. He must first receive the ordinary Sewing Needle from Coastal Cave.
  • Own an eligible unaltered demigod garment from Enia, such as Radahn's Lion Armor, and speak to Boc about his inability to alter that clothing. That conversation leads to the option to give him the gold needle.
  • A random piece of boss equipment is not enough if it has no supported alteration. A helm or garment with no altered version will not serve as a substitute for the eligible chest.
  • His ordinary and special alteration services are free once unlocked. The needle is a one-time gift to expand the service, not a material consumed for every garment.
  • The Golden Tailoring Tools from the same chest enable your own special alterations at graces. Giving Boc the needle does not remove that separate player option.
  • This is different from Unalloyed Gold Needle and Miquella's Needle. It does not treat Scarlet Rot or change an ending, and collecting or giving it does not force Boc's later rebirth choice.
