About this item

Use one to add 2,000 runes to your carried total. The item is consumed. Selling one to a merchant gives the same 2,000 runes, so neither option increases its value.

The unspent item stays in your inventory when you die. Once converted into runes, its value follows the normal death-and-recovery rules, so use only what you need for a purchase or a level.

Golden Scarab and rune-gain foods do not increase this fixed item value. Those bonuses apply to eligible rune rewards from enemies instead.
