Gowry

Gowry asks you to treat Millicent and gradually opens a small spell shop. His final talisman depends on resolving her story rather than simply attacking him at the first meeting.

Locations and access

Road south of Sellia

Starting Site of Grace: Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank

  1. From Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank, follow the road north through Sellia Gateway. Watch for the giant throwing rocks above the gateway. Gowry's wooden shack is off the road on the right, before the town.
  2. Speak to Gowry and agree to help Millicent. Keep the large dog away from the shack so its attacks do not interrupt the conversation.

Quest steps

Quest steps can include different outcomes. Read the branch, conditions and cutoffs before making a choice.

  1. Accept his request

    Branch: Main quest

    Speak at the shack, retrieve the Unalloyed Gold Needle from Commander O’Neil and bring it back. Rest while Gowry repairs it.

  2. Deliver the treatment

    Branch: Main quest

    Give the repaired needle to Millicent at Church of the Plague. After she recovers, visit the shack while she is there, then reload for Gowry to return and open his shop.

  3. Expand the shop

    Branch: Main quest

    Give Valkyrie’s Prosthesis to Millicent in Altus, then return to Gowry. Buy Pest Threads and ask the new questions for his further dialogue and gesture.

  4. Resolve the final branch

    Branch: Main quest

    After assisting Millicent to her conclusion, return and speak to the grieving Gowry. Killing him at this stage gives his talisman and bearing. If you betrayed Millicent through her final sign, check the shack for the drops instead.

Notes

  • Keep the dog outside away from the shack. Its attacks can interrupt or kill the body you are speaking to.
  • Attacking Gowry early can reveal a Pest body that is replaced when the area reloads. This is not the completed-quest reward route.
  • Gowry’s preferred ending for Millicent is not the only choice available to you.
  • Do not kill Millicent simply to open his first spell shop. Her treatment and departure provide the peaceful route.
  • The final talisman strengthens incantations, but it is not a required item for curing the Frenzied Flame.
