Grafted Scion
This is the many-armed enemy waiting beyond the bridge at the start of a new journey. Losing the opening fight continues the story, and you can return later for its equipment.

Opening visit
Leave the starting chapel after collecting your first inventory item. Follow the path and cross the bridge into the open courtyard.
Entering the courtyard starts the Grafted Scion encounter. If it defeats you, continue from Stranded Graveyard and use the return route when you are ready.

Starting Site of Grace: The Four Belfries
Before you go
One Imbued Sword Key for the return route through The Four Belfries.
Follow the road along western Liurnia to Foot of the Four Belfries grace. At the fork, take the uphill path northeast through the spirit jellyfish and Troll Knights.
Keep climbing east and then uphill toward the four bell towers. Activate The Four Belfries grace at the highest part of the hill and open the nearby chest for an Imbued Sword Key.
Walk downhill to the eastern sending gate with the inscription Precipice of Anticipation. Read the inscription before using the key: the other gates lead to different isolated areas.
Spend one Imbued Sword Key at its imp statue and use the gate. An ordinary Stonesword Key will not work here.
Follow the island path and bridge to the original Grafted Scion courtyard. Defeat it if it survived your first visit; it drops Ornamental Straight Sword and Golden Beast Crest Shield together.

Defeating this particular Scion awards Ornamental Straight Sword and Golden Beast Crest Shield together. You receive the same equipment whether you win immediately or return later.
The return gate is marked Precipice of Anticipation. The other Four Belfries gates reach different isolated areas and cannot be used to walk over to this courtyard.
Opening the gate consumes one Imbued Sword Key. It stays open afterward, so another attempt does not cost another key.
Its many swords can turn one apparent opening into a longer combination. Give the last swing time to finish before committing to a slow attack or healing animation.
The edge of the courtyard is a fall hazard. Keep enough space behind you to retreat without backing off the island.
After clearing the courtyard on a return visit, continue toward the chapel and use its now-open side doorway to reach the separate Stormhawk Deenh and Stormhawk King pickups.
Other Grafted Scions do not award this pair of weapons simply because they share the same enemy type. The Stormveil dining-hall Scion is a different encounter.
