Great Horned Tragoth

Great Horned Tragoth is an armored cooperator at several bosses and a later target of Patches’s contract. Killing him gives Bull-Goat Set but removes his remaining assistance.

Starting Site of Grace: Ruin-Strewn Precipice Overlook

  1. For Tragoth's arena, follow northern Liurnia's lake into the ravine to Ravine-Veiled Village. Climb the wooden ladders into the mine, then take its lift to Ruin-Strewn Precipice grace.
  2. Ride the next lift north and climb the wooden stairs past the bats. Take the upward ladder, continue west beneath the arches, then southwest to the platform guarded by a singing bat.
  3. Climb the ladder behind that singer and continue past more bats and octopuses to the next ladder. Above it, take the southwest route to the platform with two singing bats; the western ladder leads to a separate optional weapon pickup.
  4. Take the lift beside the two singers to Ruin-Strewn Precipice Overlook. Activate its grace and defeat Magma Wyrm Makar in the arena beyond. If he is already dead, you can travel directly to his grace.

Wailing Dunes summon signs

Starting Site of Grace: Chamber Outside the Plaza

  1. Activate the Radahn Festival and enter the Wailing Dunes through the castle’s shore waygate. Find Tragoth’s gold sign among the battlefield signs.

Draconic Tree Sentinel approach

Starting Site of Grace: Hermit Merchant’s Shack

  1. Follow the outer northern road toward the guarded bridge into Leyndell. Check the gold signs before the Draconic Tree Sentinel.

Makar’s cleared arena

Liurnia of the Lakes · Patches’s target

When available: After Patches gives his letter.

Starting Site of Grace: Magma Wyrm Makar

  1. Rest or reload and use Tragoth's red invasion sign in Makar's cleared arena. Defeat him for Bull-Goat Helm, Armor, Gauntlets and Greaves together. Having summoned him for Makar is not required.

Quest steps

Quest steps can include different outcomes. Read the branch, conditions and cutoffs before making a choice.

  1. Receive the greeting

    Branch: Main quest

    Summon Tragoth as an ally before killing him through the contract if you want Casual Greeting.

  2. Optional assassination

    Branch: Patches’s contract

    Keep Patches alive, join Tanith and finish her first contract. Take Letter to Patches, defeat Makar and use Tragoth’s red sign in the cleared arena.

  3. Request the second reward

    Branch: Patches’s contract

    Report the victory to Patches, rest and ask again about the reward before Rykard.

Notes

  • His gold signs and red assassination sign serve different purposes.
  • You do not have to summon him against Makar before his red sign becomes available.
  • Killing him through the contract removes him from later boss assistance.
  • Bull-Goat’s Talisman is found elsewhere and is not awarded with the armor.
  • The very heavy armor can push you into heavy equip load. Check total weight before using it all.
