A record of crafting techniques of the greater potentate who roamed lands near and far. Haunted by the grotesque practice of his village of birth, he stuffed great pots with all manner of things.

Acquire the knowledge to craft the following:

Starting Site of Grace: Ravine North

1. To enter the Realm of Shadow, defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, then touch the withered arm in Mohg's arena at Mohgwyn Palace.
2. From Moorth Ruins grace in Scadu Altus, ride northeast to the small triangular pool. Look for the cave beside a statue of Marika and a Scadutree Fragment.
3. Enter the cave and follow it past the perfumers to the glowing golden tree. Take the path to its right down into the swamp.
4. Turn left through the route beneath the rock and continue until you emerge into Rauh Base. Activate Ancient Ruins Base grace ahead.
5. Follow the valley southwest toward Temple Town Ruins. A bow golem and an axe golem guard the approach; fighting them is optional if you can pass their attacks.
6. Collect the map beneath the stele near the ruined town. This is the lower valley, not the upper ruins reached through Shadow Keep.
7. From Temple Town Ruins, follow the lower river north and northwest past the Pests and Gravebird platforms. Keep following the ravine until you can climb to Ravine North grace.
8. From Ravine North, follow the ravine west toward its end. Before turning south along the river toward Scorpion River Catacombs, look north of the dungeon approach for the huge pile of excrement beside a large tree.
9. Climb the mound and loot the corpse on top for Greater Potentate's Cookbook (8). This is an outdoor pickup, so entering the catacombs or defeating their Death Knight is unnecessary.

Notes

• Unlocks Hefty Fetid Pots.
• The book unlocks its recipes without being equipped or consumed. You also need the Crafting Kit from Kalé at the Church of Elleh to use Item Crafting.
• You keep the book and its recipes in later Journeys. Its number identifies the contents rather than a required collection order.
• Hefty Fetid Pot: each craft makes 1, using 2 Fly Mold and 3 Horn-Strewn Excrement.
• These recipes use Hefty Cracked Pots. Ordinary Cracked Pots and Ritual Pots do not work. The container becomes available again after the crafted pot is thrown.
• This recipe inflicts deadly poison rather than Scarlet Rot. The ninth volume teaches the separate Hefty Rot Pot recipe.
• Crafted Hefty Fetid Pots can build Poison on the person carrying them as well as on enemies. The item's drawback is separate from unlocking its recipe; owning the cookbook does not poison you.
