Before you go

• One Stonesword Key

1. Follow Stormveil's ramparts through the chapel and upper rooms to the large dining hall containing a Grafted Scion.
2. From that hall, take the northwestern doorway into the small courtyard. Find the imp-sealed room on the right.
3. Spend one Stonesword Key at the imp statue and enter. Defeat the two axe-wielding Exile Soldiers and loot the whetblade inside.

Notes

• Adds Heavy, Keen and Quality affinity choices when applying compatible Ashes of War.
• Heavy favors Strength, Keen favors Dexterity, and Quality splits scaling between both. A split scaling label does not guarantee more damage at your current stats.
• You still need the Whetstone Knife or Hewg's Ash-of-War service. The whetblade expands choices rather than supplying an Ash by itself.
• Fixed unique weapons and incompatible Ashes do not gain every affinity just because you own the whetblade.
• Heavy and Keen focus a weapon on one physical attribute, while Quality needs investment in both Strength and Dexterity to pay off. Quality can lose damage at lower stat investment even when its scaling letters look attractive.
• Standard, Heavy, Keen and Quality usually allow grease or a weapon enchantment on a compatible weapon. The whetblade does not make a weapon with its own buff restrictions eligible.
• The knife or whetblade carries into later Journeys. Changing an affinity does not spend it, and you do not need another copy for a second weapon.
