Before you go

• Have 3,000 runes.

1. Follow Limgrave's southern road across Bridge of Sacrifice into Weeping Peninsula. Stay on the main road to Castle Morne Rampart, then use the western branch across the peninsula rather than continuing south to Castle Morne.
2. Continue toward the western coast and the isolated shack northwest of the walking mausoleum. Activate Isolated Merchant's Shack grace and buy one Lost Ashes of War for 3,000 runes.

Before you go

• Have 4,000 runes.
• Have the Academy Glintstone Key to use the South Raya Lucaria Gate seal on this route.

1. Take the Academy Glintstone Key from the corpse behind Smarag, north of Temple Quarter in western Liurnia. You can collect it without defeating the dragon.
2. Use the seal at South Raya Lucaria Gate to reach Main Academy Gate grace. Walk southeast along the bridge through the blue seal without selecting its teleport prompt.
3. Follow the bridge past the wolves to the Isolated Merchant sheltering near its broken end. Buy his Lost Ashes of War for 4,000 runes. This is the merchant's finite stock, not a reward for fighting the wolves.

Notes

• Take one to Smithing Master Hewg at Roundtable Hold and select Ash of War duplication. One blank is consumed to create one additional copy of a transferable Ash you already own.
• It does not grant an unknown skill, change a fixed unique skill or duplicate an entire weapon. A unique skill on a Somber weapon is not converted into a transferable Ash through this menu.
• Duplicating is useful when you want the same Ash installed on two weapons at once. You can remove and reuse a single Ash without spending a blank if you only need it on one weapon at a time.
• A duplicate follows the same weapon compatibility and affinity rules as the original. Making another copy does not let a skill work on an incompatible weapon type.
• You do not need a second whetblade just for duplication. Whetblades determine available affinity choices when applying a compatible Ash, while this item supplies the extra copy.
• Pickups and merchant supplies are finite during a journey. Unused blanks carry into the next journey, so save them for skills you actually want on multiple weapons.
• The Weeping Peninsula and academy-bridge purchases are accessible examples. Other copies appear later, including in the Realm of Shadow; these two merchants are not the entire supply.
• The blank cannot be applied directly as an affinity. Use Hewg's duplication menu first, then install the resulting named Ash through the normal Ashes of War menu.
