Maleigh Marais

Maleigh Marais waits outside Shaded Castle with Antspur Rapier. This is a hostile human encounter on the ground, rather than a red phantom invasion.

Starting Site of Grace: Shaded Castle Ramparts

From Erdtree-Gazing Hill in Altus Plateau, ride east down into the valley, then follow it north between the cliffs. Stay on the lower ground rather than climbing toward Mt. Gelmir's campsites.
When you reach the castle swamp, go around the outside to the west instead of climbing inside. Find Maleigh Marais on the open ground west of the walls, near the giant golem.
Defeat Maleigh for the mask and robe. You do not need to defeat Elemer inside the castle for these two pieces, and the golem is not the opponent that drops them.
Collect Antspur Rapier with the mask and robe. This outdoor human opponent supplies the weapon; the nearby golem does not.

Approach through the low valley north of Erdtree-Gazing Hill.
You do not need to enter the castle or defeat Elemer for this equipment.
His rapier can cause Scarlet Rot and he uses poison attacks. Bring cures if you struggle to finish the fight.
Keep the golem away from the duel so you are not fighting both opponents at once.
His robe and mask are the named outfit pieces; there is no full four-piece Marais Set reward.
