Map of Scadu Altus.

The plateau occupied by Messmer's army that peers towards the Scadutree to the northeast, named after its counterpart in the realm of the Erdtree. At its center lies the shadow keep.

Starting Site of Grace: Highroad Cross

1. After defeating Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, touch the withered arm in Miquella's cocoon at Mohgwyn Palace. Leave the arrival cave and activate Gravesite Plain grace.
2. From Three-Path Cross, follow the eastern road over Ellac Greatbridge to Castle Front. Cross the northeastern bridge into Castle Ensis, passing the Troll Knight at the far end.
3. Follow the path left at the top. Soldiers and dogs wait around the fires and stairway, so draw them out before climbing farther.
4. Continue through the cave beyond the first campfire. Climb the ledges at its far exit, then follow the uphill path past the patrolling Black Knight.
5. At the top is a closed gate with Miquella's Cross beside it. Activate Castle Ensis Checkpoint grace before attempting the detour.
6. With the closed gate ahead, follow the wall to the right to the soldier crouching at the ledge. Drop to the ledge below, then into the hole leading to the flooded cave. Three dogs attack inside.
7. Leave the cave and turn left toward the waterfall. Jump across the rock platforms, continue through the river arch and climb the ladder beside the falling water.
8. Enter the room at the top, watching for an ambush on the left. Cross to the gate mechanism and turn it to open the shortcut back to Checkpoint grace.
9. Climb the stairs and cross the guarded bridge. Continue past the dog ambush and spellcasting nobles to the stairs leading up toward the chapel.
10. Moonrithyll, Carian Knight guards the chapel entrance. Defeat him or move past him carefully; the shield stairs and chapel altar are separate pickups here.
11. Pass through the chapel behind Moonrithyll and continue along the castle's rising main route. Get past the sorcerers and the Black Knight guarding the final lift.
12. Ride that lift to Castle-Lord's Chamber and activate the grace. Defeat Rellana, Twin Moon Knight in the nearby arena, then take the northern exit to Scadu Altus.
13. Follow the path outside to Highroad Cross. Hornsent and Leda meet here before their later Shadow Keep events.
14. Follow the main road north from Highroad Cross toward Shadow Keep. At the crossroads near the soldiers' camp, find the stone map stele beside the road.
15. Collect Map: Scadu Altus at its base. You do not need to enter the keep, defeat its bosses or fight the Furnace Golem for this pickup.

Notes

• Collecting the fragment fills in this region's drawn terrain automatically. There is no separate equip slot or consume step to activate it.
• The drawing does not activate undiscovered Sites of Grace, collect items or remove barriers. Add your own markers for places you want to revisit.
• A landmark appearing close on the map can be far above or below you. The fragment is useful for navigation, but does not make a cliff or sealed passage traversable.
• Covers the plateau around Highroad Cross, Moorth Ruins and Shadow Keep. Upper Rauh, the southern coast and Abyssal Woods have their own map fragments.
• Rellana is required for the selected Castle Ensis route, rather than for owning the fragment itself. The route via Fort of Reprimand provides another entrance to Scadu Altus.
• The stele symbol is visible on the obscured map as you approach. It marks the pickup rather than a Site of Grace.
