Before you go

• Visit the shack at night.

1. Reach the northern part of the Capital Outskirts and find Hermit Merchant's Shack beside the road northwest of the capital's outer wall.
2. Activate the grace, speak to the merchant, then pass time until night. Rest again or reload the area so the merchant is absent.
3. Approach the shack and defeat the Bell Bearing Hunter that appears. Collect the bearing awarded for winning.
4. Offer it to the Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable Hold to open the medicine stock.

Notes

• Unlocks unlimited Neutralizing Boluses, Stanching Boluses, Thawfrost Boluses and Stimulating Boluses.
• The hunter's bearing is different from the Hermit Merchant's own bearing. Killing the merchant is not required.
• The unlocked medicine stock remains available in later journeys.
• Neutralizing Boluses costs 1,200 runes; Stanching Boluses costs 1,200 runes; Thawfrost Boluses costs 2,400 runes; Stimulating Boluses costs 3,000 runes. These are prices for one item, separate from any reinforcement fee.
• Neutralizing Boluses cure poison, Stanching Boluses clear blood loss buildup, Thawfrost Boluses clear Frostbite and its buildup, and Stimulating Boluses clear sleep buildup. None of these is a Scarlet Rot cure.
