Locations and access

Lake below Palace Approach Ledge-Road

Mohgwyn Palace · Southern blood lake

When available: Before defeating Mohg, Lord of Blood.

Starting Site of Grace: Palace Approach Ledge-Road

  1. Follow the slope north past the Albinaurics until it opens into the blood lake. Turn left along the lake edge toward its southern cliff, below the high ledge where the grace sits. The giant crow and blood geysers make this stretch dangerous; clear room to fight before approaching the invasion area.
  2. Search the southern end of the lake behind the large tree, between the cliff and the nearby rocks. A Nameless White Mask invades automatically. Defeat this invader for White Mask, War Surgeon Gown (Altered), War Surgeon Gloves and War Surgeon Trousers together.
  3. Two other Nameless White Masks invade elsewhere around the lake. Their defeats are not prerequisites for this reward, so you do not need to clear all three. Do collect the outfit before defeating Mohg, Lord of Blood.

Quest steps

Quest steps can include different outcomes. Read the branch, conditions and cutoffs before making a choice.

  1. Enter the lake

    Branch: Main quest

Reach the palace through Varré’s medal or the western Snowfield waygate. From Palace Approach Ledge-Road, descend past the Albinaurics into the blood lake.

  2. Find the outfit invader

    Branch: Main quest

Follow the southern lake edge below the high grace ledge. Search behind the large tree between the cliff and rocks. Defeat the White Mask that invades there.

Progression cutoff: Mohg’s defeat stops these invasions. Collect the outfit first.

White Mask and War Surgeon SetDefeat the outfit-bearing invader in the southern lake. The gown drops altered. The other two invaders do not each provide another complete set.

Notes

  • You do not need to defeat all three before the outfit can drop.
  • Varré’s own invasion awards his bouquet instead. Killing him is not how to get White Mask.
  • Giant crows and blood geysers make the lake dangerous. Fight on a cleared stretch rather than beside a crow.
  • The mask’s blood-loss effect is useful for bleed builds, but obtaining it still requires this specific invasion.
