Night's Cavalry on Bellum Highway

Starting Site of Grace: East Raya Lucaria Gate

Before you go

  • Fight the Bellum Highway rider at night.
  1. Obtain the Academy Glintstone Key from the corpse behind Glintstone Dragon Smarag west of Raya Lucaria. You can collect it without killing the dragon, then use it at South Raya Lucaria Gate to reach Main Academy Gate.
  2. Reach the northern academy highway. From Main Academy Gate, use the northeastern seal to arrive at East Raya Lucaria Gate.
  3. Follow Bellum Highway north toward Bellum Church and pass time until night at a nearby grace.
  4. Find the Night's Cavalry patrolling the road between the gate and church. Defeat it to receive Giant Hunt.
  5. This is not the Night's Cavalry near Gate Town Bridge or the rider by Lenne's Rise.

Notes

  • Defeating this rider gives Giant Hunt and Nightrider Glaive together.
  • This is the northern Liurnia encounter on Bellum Highway, separate from the southern rider who gives Ice Spear. The academy seal is one approach to the highway, not a requirement to defeat Rennala first.
  • These riders appear at night. If the road is empty after you die, rest at a grace and pass time until night again before returning.
  • The horse and rider are separate targets. Bringing down the horse can knock the rider onto the ground, but killing only the mount does not award the encounter’s reward.
  • Use the dismount opening to attack the rider, then watch for the weapon being held upright. The rider can summon a replacement horse with an area attack around the mounting point.
  • The long weapon can still reach you as the horse passes. Turn to keep the rider visible rather than chasing directly behind it through another sweeping attack.
