Notes

  • The reward is Repeating Thrust. The scarab nearby gives Determination instead.
  • Deal with the soldiers beside the bridge before drawing the rider toward them. The bridge edges also leave less room to turn than the nearby road.
  • These riders appear at night. If the road is empty after you die, rest at a grace and pass time until night again before returning.
  • The horse and rider are separate targets. Bringing down the horse can knock the rider onto the ground, but killing only the mount does not award the encounter’s reward.
  • Use the dismount opening to attack the rider, then watch for the weapon being held upright. The rider can summon a replacement horse with an area attack around the mounting point.
  • The long weapon can still reach you as the horse passes. Turn to keep the rider visible rather than chasing directly behind it through another sweeping attack.
