Notes
This rider gives Phantom Slash. The Black Blade Kindred near Grand Lift of Rold is a separate encounter.
The narrow road, poor visibility and Vulgar Militia make the approach dangerous. Clear a stretch of road before trying repeated mounted passes.
These riders appear at night. If the road is empty after you die, rest at a grace and pass time until night again before returning.
The horse and rider are separate targets. Bringing down the horse can knock the rider onto the ground, but killing only the mount does not award the encounter’s reward.
Use the dismount opening to attack the rider, then watch for the weapon being held upright. The rider can summon a replacement horse with an area attack around the mounting point.
The long weapon can still reach you as the horse passes. Turn to keep the rider visible rather than chasing directly behind it through another sweeping attack.
