Before you go
Fight the Night's Cavalry at night.
Reach Altus Plateau by Grand Lift of Dectus or Ruin-Strewn Precipice. Follow the main eastern road to Altus Highway Junction; the night rider patrols the southwestern road back toward Dectus.
Rest until night, then take the road southwest from the junction. Look for the black-armored rider patrolling it.
Defeat this Night's Cavalry to receive Shared Order. If the rider disappears after a death or a change of time, rest until night again.

Notes
Defeating this rider gives Shared Order. It is a separate patrol from the Tree Sentinels on the road into the Capital Outskirts.
The flail can build Blood Loss. Avoid turning a narrow damage opening into several traded hits.
These riders appear at night. If the road is empty after you die, rest at a grace and pass time until night again before returning.
The horse and rider are separate targets. Bringing down the horse can knock the rider onto the ground, but killing only the mount does not award the encounter’s reward.
Use the dismount opening to attack the rider, then watch for the weapon being held upright. The rider can summon a replacement horse with an area attack around the mounting point.
The long weapon can still reach you as the horse passes. Turn to keep the rider visible rather than chasing directly behind it through another sweeping attack.
