Night’s Cavalry (Small bridge beside Lenne’s Rise)

This nighttime patrol uses a glaive from horseback. Use the road’s open space to keep its attacks and turning path in view.

Location and access

Night's Cavalry on the bridge north of Lenne's Rise

Starting Site of Grace: Lenne's Rise

Before you go

  • Defeat the rider at night.
  1. Use the sending gate north of the Third Church of Marika to reach Bestial Sanctum, then ride south past the Black Blade Kindred without fighting it.
  2. Follow the road down toward Farum Greatbridge, then take the eastern route to the smaller bridge by Lenne's Rise. This is separate from the large bridge guarded by a dragon.
  3. Activate Lenne's Rise and pass time until night. Return to the nearby bridge and defeat its Night's Cavalry.
  4. Collect the Ash from the victory. If you die and the rider disappears, return at night again.

Notes

  • The direct reward is Bloodhound’s Step. It does not come from the dragon on Farum Greatbridge.
  • Use the smaller bridge near Lenne’s Rise, east of the large dragon bridge. The drop beside the bridge is dangerous when turning Torrent during a pass.
  • These riders appear at night. If the road is empty after you die, rest at a grace and pass time until night again before returning.
  • The horse and rider are separate targets. Bringing down the horse can knock the rider onto the ground, but killing only the mount does not award the encounter’s reward.
  • Use the dismount opening to attack the rider, then watch for the weapon being held upright. The rider can summon a replacement horse with an area attack around the mounting point.
  • The long weapon can still reach you as the horse passes. Turn to keep the rider visible rather than chasing directly behind it through another sweeping attack.
