From Mistwood Outskirts, follow the road south into the forest.
Look off the road east of Mistwood Ruins and south of the Minor Erdtree for the merchant's campfire.
His bearing drops if you kill him. Collect it from his drops and offer it to the Twin Maiden Husks if you choose that route.
