About this cookbook

Unlocks Swarm Pot and Roped Fly Pot. One normal pot needs one Mushroom and one Blood-Tainted Excrement. The roped version also needs one String.

Both recipes use ordinary Cracked Pots. Throwing a finished item frees its container, but spends its ingredients. Ritual Pots and Hefty Cracked Pots do not work for these recipes.

The flies cause blood loss buildup against susceptible enemies. They do not cause poison merely because the recipe uses excrement. Most normal damage and bleed buildup are separate effects.

Where to find

Corpse beside the ridge in the lower blood pool

Mohgwyn Palace

Starting Site of Grace: Palace Approach Ledge-Road

Before you go

  • Reach Consecrated Snowfield for this selected access route.
  1. Obtain the right Haligtree Secret Medallion half from Albus in Village of the Albinaurics, beneath southwestern Liurnia's plateau. Follow the village path uphill past the perfumer, reveal the large pot before the bridge and speak to Albus. Stop attacking once he appears.
  2. Obtain the left half from the rooftop beyond Commander Niall in Castle Sol. After defeating Niall, go through the exit behind his arena, ride the tower lift and collect the half beside the seated spirit. It is a separate pickup from his direct weapon reward.
  3. Return to the Grand Lift of Rold and switch the action to Hoist secret medallion. Follow Hidden Path to the Haligtree through to the snowy exit. The ordinary Rold Medallion goes to the other part of the Mountaintops.
  4. Activate Consecrated Snowfield grace near the exit. For Inner Consecrated Snowfield, continue north through the blizzard until the open ground becomes clearer; keep the grace as a safe return point.
  5. From Inner Consecrated Snowfield, ride west toward the cliff northwest of Yelough Anix Ruins. Among the pale tree stumps, defeat the invading Sanguine Noble. This activates the nearby sending gate.
  6. Continue west to the fallen tree near the cliff. Just south of it, find the blood-covered sending gate beside an Albinauric. Use the gate, leave the dark cave and follow the left-hand downhill trail to Palace Approach Ledge-Road grace.
  7. From Palace Approach Ledge-Road, follow the slope north past the Albinaurics. Before riding into the main blood lake, look for the opening in the cliff on the left.
  8. Follow that side passage to its end and drop into the lower blood pool. Stay beside the ridge on the left until you reach the corpse holding Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook (24).
  9. Watch for the giant bloody crow around this lower pool. If a Nameless White Mask invades, deal with it before trying to ride away, because the invasion prevents mounted travel. Mohg himself is not required for the book.

Notes

  • Unlocks Swarm Pot and Roped Fly Pot. One normal pot needs one Mushroom and one Blood-Tainted Excrement. The roped version also needs one String.
  • Both recipes use ordinary Cracked Pots. Throwing a finished item frees its container, but spends its ingredients. Ritual Pots and Hefty Cracked Pots do not work for these recipes.
  • The flies cause blood loss buildup against susceptible enemies. They do not cause poison merely because the recipe uses excrement. Most normal damage and bleed buildup are separate effects.
  • The roped pot is thrown behind your character, making it useful for a pursuer. Use Swarm Pot for the ordinary forward throw.
  • These recipes use Blood-Tainted Excrement, not Fly Mold. Hefty Fly Pot is a separate expansion recipe with a different container.
  • The book remains available after Mohg is defeated. The Nameless White Mask invasions in the surrounding lake are separate rewards with an earlier cutoff.
  • Collecting the book unlocks its recipe without equipping or consuming it. You also need the Crafting Kit from Kale at the Church of Elleh. The recipe stays unlocked in later Journeys; other numbered volumes are not prerequisites.
